This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on the Turks’n’Turks website and mobile app. For how we handle your personal data in general, see our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Sites use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and keep the service working.
Mobile apps do not use cookies; instead they use on-device storage and device identifiers that serve a similar purpose. This policy covers both.
We use only two cookies on the site. Both are our own; neither is a third-party cookie.
The name in brackets is the actual name the cookie has in your browser (“tnt” is short for Turks’n’Turks). You can verify it exactly in your browser’s cookie settings.
| Cookie | What it does | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visitor recognition(tnt_session_id) | Recognises visitors who do not have an account for the duration of that visit, so we can show listings relevant to your location. It is not linked to your name or email address, and it is deleted when you close your browser. | For the session | Functional |
| Language preference(tnt_lang) | Remembers the language you chose in your account, so you see the site in that language whichever device or link you open it from. It is only set while you are signed in and is deleted when you sign out. It contains no name or email address; only “tr” or “en”. | 1 year | Functional |
| Google sign-in security(__Host-tnt_google_state) | Set when you start signing in with Google. It confirms that the sign-in returning from Google was started in your browser, so a sign-in started by someone else cannot be completed in yours. It is only a random value and contains nothing that identifies you. It is deleted once the sign-in completes. | Up to 10 minutes | Strictly necessary |
We do not use advertising, marketing or profiling cookies. We do not use an analytics tool such as Google Analytics either. There are no third-party trackers following you around the site.
If we add an analytics tool in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where that is required. We do not sell your data under any circumstances.
Alongside cookies, we use your browser’s local storage so the service can work. What we keep there:
This information stays on your device and is removed when you clear your browser data.
Our mobile app uses the following instead of cookies:
We do not track you across apps and we do not use an advertising identifier.
Some features rely on outside services. They do not place their own cookies on our site, but because a connection is made your IP address is visible to the provider concerned:
The full list of services we use is in our Privacy Policy.
You can delete or block cookies from your browser settings. How you do this varies by browser; look for the “Privacy” section in its settings.
Our cookies exist to make the service work. If you block them the site will still open, but features such as remembering the location or the language you selected may not work properly.
In the mobile app you can clear the data the app stores from your device settings, or remove the app. You can also turn off notification permission from your device settings at any time.
We apply the same rules wherever you live; we do not run a different cookie practice by country. In addition, you may have extra rights depending on where you are:
Your rights are set out in detail in our Privacy Policy.
If we update this policy we will change the date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will let you know separately.
For any question about cookies, please write to us.
